Travel Health

Travel medicine doctors are nationally recognised for their knowledge and experience.

Before travelling overseas it is important to visit your doctor well before you travel – even if you aren’t feeling sick.

Doctors with experience in providing travel medicine can advise you on measures you can take to avoid infectious diseases you might be exposed to whilst overseas. This might include avoiding contaminated food or water, contact with animals or insects, risks of sexually transmitted infections, medication to reduce the risk of infection or vaccination against serious diseases.

Speak with your doctor about any vaccines or boosters you may need.

Some diseases which should be considered include;

Cholera, Hepatitis A & B, Influenza, Measles, Meningococcal, Rabies, Tuberculosis, Typhoid, Varicella (Chickenpox) and Yellow fever
