Flu Vaccinations now available

Are you ready for the flu season?

Influenza, or the flu, is a very contagious infection of the airways and is especially serious for babies, people over 65 years of age and pregnant women. Vaccination is a safe and effective way to protect you from serious disease caused by influenza. By getting vaccinated against influenza, you can also help protect other people, especially those who are too sick or too young to be vaccinated. The more people who are vaccinated in your community, the less likely the disease will spread.

We currently have the following vaccines available:

  • Government Funded vaccine which is free under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) for eligible patients.
  • Private egg-based vaccine
  • Private cell-based vaccine

Please note that you do not need to choose which vaccine you’d like prior to booking. If you are unsure which vaccine is suitable for you, you can discuss this with your GP or nurse during your appointment.

After Hours

In case of any life-threatening medical accident or emergency, patients should always contact an ambulance immediately on 000.

After-hours, emergency and urgent treatment is available at Gawler Health Service Accident & Emergency Department.

For out of hours medical advice, please call the National Home Doctor Service 13 74 25.

Gawler GP Inc. does not bulk bill and a fee will apply. On-call responsibilities are shared between doctors from several practices in the Gawler area. You may therefore not be attended by one of the doctors from this practice. Patients presenting at the Gawler Health Service are attending a private outpatient service and will be billed by the attending doctor.
